What is happening now
Crazy Taxi: World Tour brings Sega's arcade classic back to modern platforms after years away, tasking players with ferrying passengers across globe-spanning locations including Japan, Germany, and beyond. The revival marks a significant shift in development approach - the producer emphasized the game's "miraculous" path to completion, noting that almost no developers from previous installments returned for this entry. Recently, Sega has been steadily showcasing the game through trailers and hands-on previews, giving outlets extended access to maps like Tokyo's Shibuya crossing and the Germany stage. Prior to greenlight, another Sega studio had pitched a different Crazy Taxi sequel concept alongside unrelated projects, but this version ultimately moved forward to its scheduled December 2027 release.
