Assassin's Creed 2 Deluxe Edition is an action-adventure title available on PC and macOS that launched in March 2010. The game follows protagonist Ezio through Renaissance Italy as he uncovers conspiracies and builds his assassin brotherhood. According to recent developer commentary, the game's scope was deliberately narrowed during production. What started as an attempt to tell the entire story arc eventually covered in Brotherhood proved too ambitious for a single release, leading the team to split Ezio's narrative across multiple installments. This modular approach allowed the character's development to unfold across subsequent games rather than forcing everything into one title.
