What is happening now

Silent Hill: Townfall is a first-person horror game set in 1990s Scotland, arriving on PC and PlayStation 5 in September 2026. The period setting serves a deliberate design purpose - it strips away modern conveniences like smartphones and GPS, forcing players to navigate the fog-shrouded town of St. Amelia with limited tools and information. Early impressions highlight Townfall's atmospheric strengths, particularly its understanding of psychological horror; the game demonstrates genuine unease in moments where threats remain unseen. However, hands-on time at Gamescom revealed concerns about pacing, with the slow-burn approach potentially testing player patience in the opening hours. The cast includes Kezia Burrows, Jovan Adepo, and Terry O'Quinn, and coverage has positioned Townfall as potentially the closest execution to a cancelled Silent Hill project, suggesting developer ambition in translating the franchise's identity to first-person perspective.
