Nihon Falcom and GungHo Online Entertainment America have released a substantial standalone demo for Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter across PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. The trial arrives following a legacy patch for the first chapter earlier in the week, giving RPG players an extended preview of the second installment in the modernized Liberl arc before the full release. The demo became available in Japan immediately, with other territories receiving access the following day.
The demo continues Falcom's established tradition of offering lengthy playable trials ahead of launch, allowing newcomers and series veterans alike to experience the sequel's opening content. Switch players will be able to carry their progress forward through backward compatibility on the Switch 2, though a dedicated version for the newer hardware hasn't been announced.
- The demo launched simultaneously across three major platforms, maintaining the publisher's commitment to broad platform accessibility for the series.
- Players can experience a substantial chunk of the game's opening, consistent with how Falcom typically handles pre-release trials for its RPG releases.
- Progress made in the Switch version carries over to Switch 2 through backward compatibility, though the publisher hasn't confirmed a native Switch 2 release.
