Sega used Gamescom to debut fresh footage of Crazy Taxi: World Tour, spotlighting the game's multiplayer mode. The trailer demonstrates four players simultaneously driving taxis, picking up passengers, and executing stunts across a shared map. The title is slated for 2027 across multiple platforms, including Nintendo Switch 2. A closed network test is currently underway, though it excludes Switch 2 for now - the full release will bring the experience to Nintendo's hardware when it launches.
The reveal clarifies multiplayer's role in the revival, positioning it as a core feature rather than an afterthought. Details remain sparse on how cooperative and competitive modes function together or how stunts factor into scoring alongside traditional fare collection.
- Multiplayer is central to World Tour's design, with up to four players sharing maps in real time.
- The closed test is running now but skipping Switch 2, with the full game arriving on that platform in 2027.
- Stunt mechanics appear integrated alongside the series' traditional taxi-fare gameplay loop.
