CD Projekt Red is bringing a remastered version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to PC and consoles this September, available as a free upgrade for existing owners. The announcement came during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026. Details on specific improvements remain limited in initial coverage, though the studio framed the remaster alongside other upcoming Witcher content as part of its broader plans for the franchise.
The timing positions the remaster as a notable refresh for a game now over a decade old, giving players who own the original a reason to return without additional cost. It's unclear whether this release coincides with console ports or represents updates to the current versions across platforms.
- The Witcher 3 Remastered arrives September 2026 as a free upgrade, not a paid re-release.
- The announcement was made at Gamescom Opening Night Live, suggesting broader franchise updates may have been revealed.
- Specific technical improvements and scope of the remaster haven't been detailed yet.
