Story of Seasons is a farming and life simulation RPG series spanning three decades. The 2014 Nintendo 3DS entry serves as the franchise's entry point for many players, though the series has expanded significantly since its original debut. The franchise recently celebrated its 30th anniversary with a livestream event in August, where developer Marvelous showcased work-in-progress footage for an unannounced new Story of Seasons title. The presentation also revealed teases for Rune Factory 6, the next numbered sequel in the companion series. Alongside the announcements, Marvelous conducted a character popularity poll ranking 50 characters across the entire franchise history, with results shared during the broadcast. Anniversary merchandise also became available following the event, offering fans new ways to engage with the long-running series.
