What is happening now
Honor of Kings: World is an RPG adventure title developed for PC, iOS, and PlayStation 5 that represents Tencent's expansion of its dominant Chinese franchise into global markets. The game builds on the massive success of the original Honor of Kings, which has maintained an enormous player base in China and across Asia. Recent competitive activity around the game has drawn attention to its international growth trajectory. A World Cup-style tournament demonstrated that while China remains the clear leader in the competitive scene, several other regions have begun closing the performance gap, suggesting the game is establishing itself as a legitimate contender on the global esports stage rather than remaining exclusively China-focused. The event underscored how Honor of Kings: World fits into regional gaming ecosystems that typically have entrenched dominants, with the franchise now pushing to expand beyond its traditional strongholds.
