When a brilliant particle physicist dies unexpectedly, the race is on to secure his terrible new technology before it falls into the wrong hands. The lives of four playable characters become entangled as they fight against the clock to find the dead scientist’s secret vault. The suspicions they harbor, the memories they guard, the connections they share – all will converge as these four ordinary people work together to prevent a potentially cataclysmic disaster.
Resonance is a point-and-click adventure game released in 2012 for PC, Mac, and Linux. However, recent coverage appears heavily focused on Final Fantasy Resonance, an upcoming HD-2D turn-based RPG coming to Switch and Switch 2 in October, alongside PlayStation 5 and other platforms.
Square Enix has been steadily building momentum ahead of launch with a series of trailers and gameplay reveals showcasing the game's art style, boss encounters, and new story details including additional cities, party members, and legacy Final Fantasy characters.
