Story

Twenty years after the outbreak of a parasitic fungus which takes over the neural functions of humans, Joel, a Texan with a tragic familial past, finds himself responsible with smuggling a fourteen-year-old girl named Ellie to a militia group called the Fireflies, while avoiding strict and deadly authorities, infected fungal hosts and other violent survivors.

The Last of Us remains one of gaming's most acclaimed action-adventure titles, launching on PlayStation 3 in 2013. Beyond the original game, the franchise has expanded significantly into television, with HBO's adaptation becoming a major success for the network. While Naughty Dog has stepped back from the HBO show's third season - which will conclude the television story - the studio has made clear it isn't finished with The Last of Us as a gaming property. Neil Druckmann recently confirmed that multiple projects are in development, though details remain scarce.
