Final Fantasy came out on December 18, 1987 for Family Computer, then for Nintendo Entertainment System on July 12, 1990 and for Wii on May 26, 2009. The main story takes about 6.5 hours, doing everything about 15 hours.

Final Fantasy, also known as FFI in re-releases, is the first role-playing game title in Square's flagship Final Fantasy series. The game puts players in control of four characters known as the Warriors of Light, and begins by asking the player to select the classes and names of each. The Warriors of Light can traverse the maps of dungeons and towns, which are connected by a world map, and will run into random encounters with enemies or fight bosses.

Story

The story follows four youths called the Light Warriors, who each carry one of their world's four elemental orbs which have been darkened by the four Elemental Fiends. Together, they quest to defeat these evil forces, restore light to the orbs, and save their world.

Final Fantasy is the foundational entry in Square Enix's long-running RPG series, originally released in 1987 for the Family Computer. The game established many conventions of the genre that would define the franchise's identity across subsequent installments and platforms.
